Mrs. Amanda Jane Petry,
83, Sheridan, died Sunday evening
at the home of a sister, Mrs. Laura
Hollingwood, in Atlanta, where she
had been living for the last four
weeks.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m.
at the Methodist church in Sheridan
with Rev. C. E. Taylor officiating.
Burial will follow in Fairiew
cemetery. Friends may call
at Hinshaw Funeral home, Sheridan.
She was born in Shelby county,
he daughter of Peter Wesley and Sarah
Ann (Able) Thurston. She was married
in Shelby county on May 27, 1893, to
Lewis Suits, former Tipton resident,
who died in 1919. She married
Thomas Lynch, in 1921, who preceded
her in death in 1935. In 1946,
she married Ervin Petry, who died
in 1948.
Survivors include three sisters,
Mrs. Carrie Howard, of Tipton;
Mrs. Daisy Spurgeon, of Sheridan;
Mrs. Laura Hollingwood, of Atlanta,
and two brothers, Albert Thurston,
of Arcadia, and Ed Thurston, of Kokomo.
