Funeral services were conducted last Saturday from the Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg for Mrs. Bessie M. Snyder, 71, wife of George William Snyder of Shepherdstown, who died Wednesday, Nov 15, in King's Daughters Hospital in Martinsburg. The Rev. Charles Cathcart, the deceased's pastor, officiated, burial was in Elmwood Cemetery, Shepherdstown.
The deceased had been ill since September, hospitalized several times, the last time October 22.
She was born in Berryville, Va., August 21, 1907, a daughter of the late John Ashby and Emma Ruth Lloyd Talley. She was a member of the New Street United Methodist Church in Shepherdstown and worked for a number of years with the Girl Scout and Brownie troops. She was a member of the Shepherdstown Fire Company auxiliary.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Betty) Carpenter, Shepherdstown; Mrs. Eugene (Emma) Benner, Sharpsburg, Md.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Lloyd W. Talley, Martinsburg; Hunter Talley, Bakerton; Kenneth Talley, Shepherdstown; Frank Talley, Bunker Hill; one sister, Mrs. James (Hilda) Brashears, Shepherdstown, and a number of nieces and nephews.
A brother, Samuel Talley, preceded her in death.
