Orpha Mae SOUTHERTON, 85, Rural Route 1, Akron, died at 11:30 p.m. Monday at Rochester Health Care Center.
She was born in Denver to John E. and Mary B. YIKE YODER. On Jan. 15, 1930, in Kokomo, she married Lee SOUTHERTON, who died on March 3, 1995. She was a homemaker and a member of the Athens United Methodist Church and Northern Indiana Hereford Cattle Association.
Surviving are one son, Glen and wife Ann SOUTHERTON, Fairfield Glade, Tenn.; one nephew, J. Frederick and wife Pat HOFFMAN, Lafayette; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Preceding in death were one daughter, Mary Lee [SOUTHERTON], one brother, Roy YODER; and one sister, Ethel YODER HOFFMAN.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Revs. Michael KELLY and Robert LOUGHEED officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday and after noon through the hour of services on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Heart Fund.
