Evelyn Phillips Vann Thompson, 75, of Clinton, died Sunday, May 25, 1997, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mrs. Thompson was retired from General Motors, where she worked for 33 years.
She was born Oct. 27, 1921, in Blue Diamond, Ky. She was a Baptist.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by a son, John C. Vann of Clinton; a stepdaughter, Ruth Thompson of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Inzia Provenza and her husband, John, of Knoxville; three brothers, Charles H. Phillips and his wife, Myrtle, of Clinton, Conway Phillips and his wife, Peggy, of West Carrolton, Ohio, and George Raymond Phillips of Clinton; a sister-in-law, Helen Phillips of Clinton; and an aunt, Alta Lee Phillips of Middletown, Ohio.Her husbands, Clarence L. Vann and Albert L. Thompson, died earlier. A daughter and son, Louise and David, also died earlier.The funeral will be held at 8 tonight, May 27, in the chapel of Cox-Martin Funeral Home in Lake City with the Rev. John Whitaker and the Rev. Michael Phillips officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, at Sunset Cemetery in Clinton.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
