As a high school junior, she passed the teacher requirements at Syracuse, KS. and taught at the Webb, Colorado School. She later finished high school at Holly, Colorado. She also taught at Amioty, Colorado. She then attended college at Greeley, CO so she could teach at Bristol. There she met and married Benjamin Thompson White. Both were active members of the United Presbyterian Church and the community of Bristol, where they raised their family of three daughters and three step-sons. After her husband's death she moved to Lamar, Colorado. She never took an empty car to missionary or WCTU meetings. Even though she moved to Sterling, Kansas in 1977 She continued her membership with the United Presbyterian Church in Bristol.
