ALexander J. McCREERY M. D., b: August 7, 1836 in New Durham, LaPorte Co, Indiana d.October 5, 1899, was also a farmer, P. O. Wetmore, he was the son of Alexander McCREERY and Sally PATTIE of Nemaha Co, Kansas.
A. J. McCREERY enlisted in September, 1862, at Holton, Kansas., in the US Army, Eleventh Kansas Volunteer Infantry, and served with that regiment throughout the entire war . He had since been a resident of Kansas, and has sold his farm in Wetmore Township. (Also see Alvin O. McCREERY)
He served with three of his sons, A.J. was in the 11th Kansas, Alvin was in the 9th Indiana, and William was in the 10th Kansas,.......
