Mr. Hoffman was born July 16, 1922 in New Bloomfield and was the son of the late Elmer E. and Edna M. (Jacobs) Hoffman.
He was a retired district manager for McNess and was an army veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Newport American Legion Post 177, Newport VFW Post 34 and Moose Lodge 925 of Millerstown.
He was the widower of Mildred Hoffman and Gracie Noll and is survived by a companion, Eva Steele; 2 sisters Henrietta Ettein of Newport and Catherine Hoffman of Erly; a brother Ray Hoffman Newport.
Services will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the Boyer Funeral Home, 101 W. Main Street, New Bloomfield. Burial with military honors rendered by New Bloomfield VFW Post 7463 and Newport American Legion Post 177 will be in New Bloomfield Cemetery.
