Carol (Reid) Altman
ARCADIA — Carol J. Altman, age 73 of Reno, Nevada, and formerly of Arcadia, Ohio, died on Sunday, April 12, 2009 in Reno.
Carol was born February 14, 1936 in Arcadia, to the late Robert and Dortha (Snyder) Reid.
She is survived by Wilbur Altman of Arcadia; a son, A. J. (Kris) Ryman of South Carolina; a daughter, Julie Burke of Reno. Six grandchildren, Martin, Ashia, Cyrena, Epiphany, Aria and Megan. Two Sisters, Pat (Al) Braaksma of Tennessee and Joan Steere of Indiana.
Carol was a 1954 graduate of Arcadia High School and is a member of the Arcadia Lutheran Church, where she had been one of the church organists. She was employed at Whirlpool in Findlay before moving to Reno in 1988. She retired from Fitzgerald's in Reno in 2008.
Carol enjoyed playing the piano and found great enjoyment in her grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Arcadia Trinity Lutheran Church, with Pastor Dent officiating. Burial will be in the Arcadia Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Arcadia Trinity Lutheran Church in her memory.
