Services were Friday, August 26 in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, for Frank E. Russell, 83, Plainfield, who died Wednesday, August 24, in Clarks Creek Health Care Center, Plainfield. Rev Dale Cain officiate and burial was in Center Valley Cemetery, rural Clayton. Born at Terre Haute February 18, 1900, he was the son of James and Mary Ricks Russell. He married Lenore Stout November 17, 1923 at Danville and she survives. Mr. Russell, a resident of Hendricks County most of his life, graduated from Clayton High School [no longer exists as was consolidated with two other schools and became Cascade High School in 1964] and attended Purdue University. He was an employee of the inspection bureau of the Indiana Department of Insurance for 42 years, retiring in 1965. He was also a charter member of the Plainfield Elks Lodge and a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Hazelwood. An avid sportsman, he received national recognition as a hunter of small boar and as a trapshooter. He is survived by his wife, Lenore, and several nieces and nephews.
