He was my 4th Great Grandfather born in 1790, in 1790 in Hampshire County, Kentucky, USA. He married Nancy Ann Barnett and after her death Barbara Elizabeth (unknown maiden name).
Was in the 4th PA Regiment of the US Army in the War of 1812. He enlisted in Worcester MA. His description is Height 5' 8 1/2'' Dark Hair, Dark Eyes, Dark Complexion. He was enlisted as a drummer.
Adam Walker was wounded in the Battle of Tippecanoe/Prophetstown, where Tippecanoe and Wabash Rivers meet. He was taken prisoner of the British Army and held from 24 Nov 1812 to 30 Nov 1813. He is listed on British and American Records as a Prisoner of War.
In 1816 he wrote a respected accounting of his experiences in the book: A Journal Of Two Campaigns Of The Fourth Regiment Of U. S. Infantry In The Michigan And Indiana Territories Under The Command Of Col. John P. Boyd And Lt. Col. James Miller During The Years 1811 And 12. It is considered an important 1st person accounting of the Battle of Tippecanoe.
