Mr. Meredith died Monday, August 7, 1972 in Columbia Heights Nursing Home after a long illness.
Mr. Meredith resided in the Hart Community, near Sikes, where he reared his family for many years before moving to Grayson.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Mary Medaries of Grayson, Mrs. Floyd Johnson [sic Johnston] of Sikes, and Mrs. Pearl Johnston of Monroe; five sons, Guy Meredith of Colfax, A. L. Meredith of Alexandria, Samuel Meredith of Vidor, Texas, Lee Meredith of Clarks, C. A. Meredith of Columbia; 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
