Funeral services for Merritt Wells, 69, of Aroma Park, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Canaday funeral home in Momence. Mr. Wells died at his home Tuesday. Services will be conducted by the Jehovah Witnesses. Burial will be in the Shrontz cemetery in Momence. Frienda may call at the funeral home today and until the time of services. Mr. Wells was born Oct. 23, 1881 in Momence and was a lifelong resident and farmer in the county. He was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses. He is survived by his wife, the former Laurena Jensen; six sons, Everett of Aroma Park, Ray, Roy, John and Lawrence, all of Kankakee and Lloyd of Bradley; four daughters, Mrs. Fay Spies of Clifton, Mrs. Vanslette and Mrs. Grace Lloyd both of South Bend, Ind; and Mrs. Helen Lippold of Kankakee; two half-brothers, William West of Lake Forest and Thomas West of Momence; 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
