Marie E. Ackley, 77, of 623 Walnut St., Greenville, died at 7 p.m. Thursday at Wayne Hospital.
She was born Jan. 13, 1918, in Osgood, daughter of Homer and Ada (Pequignot) Arnett. Also deceased are one brother, Wayne Arnett; a son, James Ackley; and two sisters, Leila Lakes and Faileigh Unger.
A homemaker, she had formerly worked for Rike's Department Store in Dayton and in more recent years in Dottie's restaurant, Greenville. Mrs. Ackley was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Cancer Support Group.
Surviving are her husband Richard D. Sr., whom she married Feb. 2, 1950,; three sons, John of Manassas, Va., Richard Daniel Jr., of Crandon, Wis. and Paul D. of Greenville; a daughter, Jeanne Ackley of Crandon, Wis.; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Ackley of Greenville and Melba Reents of Decatur, Ind.
Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Greenville, with the Rev. William Huether officiating. Burial will be in Abbottsville Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour before services Monday at the Church. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Cancer Society or Hospice of Darke County. Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, in charge of arrangements.
