Funeral services were conducted on Saturday afternoon, Dec 23 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Almelund for Mrs. Arthur Abrahamson. Rev Sahlgren, Vice Pastor of Almelund and Rev. Olmon, Chaplain at Bethesda Hospital officiated at the services.
Mrs. David Westlund sang “The Old Rugged Cross”, Mrs. Melvin Johnson sang, “He the Pearly Gates Will Open”, in Swedish.
Pallbearers were Raymond Gustafson, Anton Gustafson, Orville Akerlund, George Engdahl, Vernon Lundberg, and Burton Carlson. Burial was at the church cemetery.
Ruby Florence Abrahamson was born in Almelund, MN, April 29, 1908. She was baptized and confirmed in the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Almelund. She retained her membership in this church until her death.
She was united in marriage to Arthur Abrahamson, June 19, 1926. To this union were born three children.
Mrs. Abrahmson's health began to fail, three years ago. She was seriously ill at the Bethesda Hospital for 3 months in the spring of 1948. She returned home, and her health improved, until early this fall when she was taken back to the hospital. She remained there for 3 weeks and then was taken home. After a short stay, she again returned to the hospital on Dec 9 and remained until to death. She passed away on Thursday morning, Dec 21 at the age of 43 years, 7 months, and 23 days.
Mrs. Abrahamson is survived by her husband and three children, Archie of Almelund; Virgil of Texarkana, TX, and Doris of Almelund; her mother, Mrs. C. W. Johnson; 2 brothers, Earl and Leslie Johnson and sister, Mrs. Kermit Johnson all of Almelund and numerous other relatives and friends
