PFC Baxter was Killed in Action during the Korean War. Baxter was a member of Company C, 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. On August 14, 1952, near Chorown N Korea, Baxter, without regard for his own saftey, attacked a fortified enemy position to relieve fire on his company & was killed. For his actions Baxter was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor. Baxter's body was not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing.
