The Oklahoman, Sunday, Dec 8, 1957: Jules Bloch Sr, 81, of 1901 Bedford Drive, former member of the board of directors of First National Bank, died Saturday morning in St Anthony Hospital after a heart attack. Services will be at 2 pm Monday in the chapel of Street & Draper Funeral Home with burial in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
Born July 19, 1876 in Franklin, LA, Bloch attended Tulane University and came here in 1904. He first opened a men's clothing store and later went into the investment and real estate business. He served as director of the old Security National Bank and was one time on the First National board of directors, the bank's planning board, and it board of adjustments.
A 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner, Bloch was a member of the Temple B'nai Israel and B'nai B'rith. He also belonged to the Men's Dinner Club and the OKC Golf & Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, Josie H., of the home; a son, Jules Bloch Jr, of the home; a daughter, Mrs Annette Oppenheim and two grandsons, Stephen H. and Jeffrey A. Oppenheim, all of Scarsdale, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Frontiers of Science Foundation.
