John David Long of Cassville was born April 17th 1893, departed this life on July 7th 1937, at the age of 44 years, two months and 10 days.

He leaves to mourn his going his beloved wife, (Vera Dilbeck, Mills) one daughter, Pauline Robbins, two step daughters, Delora Gurley of Kansas City and Ruth Meadows of Pampa, Texas; nine sisters and three brothers; Semantha Hampton of Webb City, Kizzey Corley of Pierce City, Maudy Johnson of Havanna, KS, Lettie Sullivan of Cassville, Mamie Fare of Jenkins, Curtis Long of Rocky Comfort, Wesley of Cassville, Harbey Long of Cassville, and three sisters unable to come; Cora Armstrong, Alice Means, Pretty Garrute and other relatives and a host of friends.

He professed a hope in Christ and united with the Merl's Chapel Free Will Baptist church about three years ago.

Funeral services were conducted at the church by the pastor, Eld. O. T. Allred. The body was laid to rest in the Sparks Cemetery under the direction of Horine-Culver undertakers.
