Elise was the daughter of Jules Rene Duval and his first wife, Marguerite. Elise was born in France and came to the United States with her parents and brother, August Robert, as a baby of 6 months, in 1908.

Elise married Edward Kehoe, whom she met while attending nursing school. She was a roommate to his sister. Elise and Edward had two daughters: Kathleen (Johnny) and Marguerite (Paul).

Elise also had two sisters through her father's second marriage: Suzanne and Annette.

I met Aunt Elise when she visited a couple of times. That was many years ago, I was fairly young but I remember her dark hair like Mom's and the two of them sitting at the kitchen table. I wish I had known her better. Thankfully I do know my cousins, Kathleen and Marguerite.
