He was born Nov. 24, 1919, in Wayne County, W. Va., a son of the late Garland Buffington and Martha Ellen Dean Cornwell. He was a retired carpenter for Duncan Box and Lumber Company in Huntington.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Lucille Erwin Cornwell; two daughters, Margaret Ann Holley of Milton, W.Va. and Rebecca Jane Baker and husband, Rick, of Huntington, W. Va; one son Edgar Lynn Cornwell of Huntington, W. Va; one sister, Elizabeth m. Hall of Wayne, W. Va.; one brother, Gorman F. Cornwell of New Lexington, Ohio, and three grandchildren, Aaron Scott Holley of Milton, W. Va., Whitney Baker and Hillary Baker, both of Huntington, W. Va.
