PHYLLIS B. HEMSOTH, 82, of Fort Wayne, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, at Miller's Merry Manor, Fort Wayne. The New Haven native, was a devoted wife and mother. She and her husband, William, celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in January 2003. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Ladies Aide, and the My-Jo Home Ec Club. She square danced with the Promenaders for 25 years and was a St. Peter's representative to the Lutheran Home, until her health prevented her from doing these activities she so enjoyed doing. Survivors include her husband, William (Bill) Hemsoth; sons, Tom Hemsoth of New Haven, Richard (Diane) Hemsoth, Gary (Karen) Hemsoth, both of Fort Wayne; daughter, Susan (Terry) Kieffer of Fort Wayne; sister, Dorothy Hoevel of New Braunfels, Texas; nine grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; and three great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Andrew Hemsoth; and sister, Maxine Pollitz. Service is 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour before service time. Calling is also from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 Indiana Hwy. 930 E., New Haven. Burial is in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers, memorials are to St. Peter's Lutheran Church or Heartland Home Health Care & Hospice.
