Mrs. Eda Pearl Rook
Mrs. Eda Pearl Rook, 417 S. 18th, died at 9:35 o'clock last night in the Labette County Medical Center. She was 77. She had been ill only one day and entered the hospital Monday.
She was the former Eda Pearl McCarter and was born in Cassville, Mo. When a young woman she moved to cherryvale where she was married to Otto S. Rook on Nov. 30, 1901. Her husband died on March 27, 1937.
Mrs. Rook came to Parsons in 1943 and had resided here since that time. She was a member of the EUB Church at Dennis.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Carlos Daniels and Mrs. John Essig, both of Parsons, Mrs Lon Scott, Dennis, and Mrs. Gerald Hopper, Plymouth, Mich.; two sons, Harry E. Rook, Parsons, and Chester W. Rook, R. 3, Parsons; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Blossom Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
