On May 22, 1879 as Lucy M. Ord, she married John S. Mason Jr. at Bexar County, Texas. On June 4, 1902 as Lucy Maud Ord Mason, she married Walter A. Donaldson in the District Of Columbia.

Lucy Ord Mason Taken by Death
Washington. Mrs. Lucy Ord Mason, daughter of the late Major General and Mrs. Edward O.C. Ord, died Saturday at the age of 93. She is the widow of First Lieutenant John Sanford Mason Jr. of the United States Army.

Mrs. Mason once said she had witnessed the coming and going of six wars, losing an uncle in the Civil War, her husband in the Indian Wars, her brother in the Spanish American War and her great-grandson in World War II.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Keith Sumner Gregory of Reno, Nevada and Mrs. Robert H. Dunlop of Washington; a step-daughter, Mrs. Kathryn Donaldson Baxter [daughter of her second husband, Walter Alexander Donaldson] of Baltimore; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at the Fort Myer Chapel Tuesday with burial in the military cemetery at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
