Daughter of William Ward and one of their seven children. Clara married William Whitehurst on Dec. 24, 1873 and they had 11 children, nine of whom survive. Her husband and two daughters preceded her in death. She married Pit Ingram on Oct. 30, 1912. He survives her.

Also surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Anna Benefiet of Patoka, Mrs. Effie Cordary, Mrs. Ora Foltz, and Mrs. Myrtle Allan of Newton, Mrs. Maude Eckhart of Ritter, Ia. and Mrs. Zola Knight of Danville; three sons, John and William Whitehurst of Davenport, Ia. and Jehu Whitehurst of Vernon; two step-children, Fred Ingram and Mrs. Nellie Maxwell of St. Louis; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Martin and Mrs. Ora Oberholtzer; brother, Leslie Ward of Boggs, Wy.
