She attended Valley City State Teachers College for two years and taught school in Pisek and Calio, ND prior to her marriage to Louis M. Novak on August 4, 1930 in Pisek. The couple lived in Milton, ND until 1973 when they moved to Grafton. She was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton, Grafton Senior Citizens, a Life member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and a past member of the St. Clothilda's Altar Society of Milton.
