Verna Lloyd Bartholomew, born in 14 November, 1895 in Fayette, Sanpete County, Utah, United States. He was the third son of George Marston Bartholomew and Salena Roper. Including Lloyd, four brothers and one sister survived adulthood. Three other siblings, an infant brother and sister and a second sister, age three, died. Lloyd's education was acquired at " home-schools" in Fayette taught by " lay persons". He was able to attend one year of high school at Manti during the winter of 1913-14. Most of his abundant knowledge was gained through self study, experience and by interfacing with people. After he returned from a Church Mission in 1919, he and Florence Anne Domgaard were married on 3 Dec, of that year.

Lloyd was a very righteous person and devoted much of his life and energies to his Church. Among positions that held, usually two or more concurrently, were Bishop's Counselors, Chorister, Scout Master, Ward Clerk, Stake High Councilman and Teacher----all this whilst performing other numerous community service assignments.

As an adolescent, Lloyd worked closely with his father farming and attending livestock. Upon maturing into adulthood, he tilled the soil, raised range cattle, turkeys, dairy cows and even developed a small herd of sheep. Among his many ventures was a mountain homestead north-east of Fayette. This is where he took his new bride, Florence Anne Domgaard, and spent much time during the first three years of their marriage proving-up their land claim. Their family consisted of six boys and one girl.

He died 16 November 1970 in Provo, Utah County, Utah, United States. Lloyd is interred in the Fayette Cemetery, Fayette, Sanpete County, Utah, United States
