Bernard Bunge, 72, well-known resident of the town of Schleswig passed away at 7:30 Saturday evening at the August Bautz home in Howard's Grove, where he has been making his home for the past three years.
Mr. Bunge came to this country with his parents and settled in the town of Rhine. In 1888 he was united in marriage with Mrs.Elizabeth Balz and the couple located in Steinthal in the town of Schleswig, where Mr.Bunge lived until three years ago.
Survivors are a son Louis of Steinthal;two daughters, Mrs. Emma Dedering and Mrs.Ernest Damrow of this city: four sisters, Mrs. Louie F.Steinberg of here, Mrs.Anna Kaiser and Mrs. Henry Stecker of Stockbridge, and Mrs.Otto Polster of Elkhart Lake; four brothers, Ernest Bunge of Harrison,Nebraska, Otto and Rudolph of the town of Rhine, and Herman of this city;three step-daughters,Mrs. Arthur Graf and Mrs.Herman Grabs of here, and Mrs. Frank Winkel of
Steinthal; 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Mr.Bunge's wife preceded him in death 12 years ago.
Funeral services were Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the C.J.Meiselwitz Funeral Home with the Rev.E.L.Worthman officiating and burial was made in the Kiel Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandchildren of the deceased,as follows: Arno Graf,Hugo Graf, Howard Grabs, Roland Winkel, Harry Winkel and Elmer Dedering.
Burial 26th July, 1938. 72-11-12.
