Died, at her home one mile south of Soldier, Kan., on Sunday, April 12, 1896, of an abcess. Mrs. J. O. Hannum, aged 33 years, 5 months and 10 days. Clara M. Allen, was born November 2, 1862, being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Allen, who survive her and still reside at the birthplace of this daughter. On June 4, 1884, she was united in marriage to J. O. Hannum, and to their happy union was born 3 sons, the oldest now about 11 and the youngest about 5 .... The greater portion of Mrs. Hannum's life was spent in the neighborhood just northwest of Soldier ... A few years after she was married the family moved to Stafford county and there endured the hardships of western Kansas life, returning to this township about three years ago
She was a member of the Presbyterian church and also the Epworth League.
