WILBUR CHARLES ADAMS, 83
Wilbur Charles Adams, 83, of Blair, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000 at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 7, at the Campbell-Aman Funeral Chapel in Blair. Burial is in the Blair Cemetery.
Wilbur Charles Adams was born Jan. 9, 1916, to Major and Grace (Johnson) Adams in Mondamin, Iowa. On July 5, 1934, at the age of 18, he enrolled in the Civilian Conservation Corp.
He was discharged Feb. 25, 1935. He joined the United States Army April 23, 1942. He served in the Asiatic Pacific and was discharged Nov. 29, 1945.
On March 25, 1945, he married Grace L. Myer in Trenton, N.J. He worked and farmed in the Blair area.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Robert and Roger, both of Blair; two brothers, Charley Adams of Blair; and Donald Adams of Modale, Iowa; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Eunice and Clifford Stueve of Missouri Valley, Iowa; Inez and Duane Layton of Modale, Iowa; Beaulah and Robert Coats of Branson, Mo.; and Maxine and Dennis Osburn of Rogers, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harold; and two sisters, Shirley Merriman and Elizabeth Adams.
Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
