Grand Forks Herald (ND) — Monday, October 6, 2003

Ambrose "Amby" Burianek, 74, of Grafton, North Dakota died Saturday, October 4, 2003 at Unity Medical Center in Grafton.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church in Grafton with burial in St. John's Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Barnes Family Funeral Service, Henriksen-Kamrowski Chapel on Monday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm and one hour prior to services in the church.

Ambrose Jerome Burianek was born December 7, 1928 at Veseleyville, North Dakota the son of John C. and Agnes (Dusek) Burianek. He was reared and educated there and attended country schools. He then worked for area farmers before entering the United States Army and serving during the Korean Conflict. After he returned from the Army he moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he worked for a Tire Company. He later moved back to Grafton and worked for Berdahl & Fedje, Coast to Coast, Wilson Brothers and Grafton Equipment. He married Dolores Johnson on June 15, 1973 in Grafton. After he retired he worked for Marvin Windows and operated a small engine repair shop.

He was a member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years, the VFW, American Legion, and the Eagles.

Amby enjoyed working on lawn mowers and playing the accordion. He played in the Dan Burianek Band for many years.

Amby is survived by his wife, Dolores; Step-sons: Robert Johnson of Fargo, ND, Thomas (Janet) Johnson of Fargo, ND, and Bradley Johnson of Fargo, ND; Step-Daughter, Barbara Johnson, of Cadillac, MI; several grandchildren and a great granddaughter; brothers, Vendelyn (Georgia) Burianek, of Grafton, ND, and Dan (Delores) Burianek, of Grafton, ND; sister, Tracy Dahlgren, of Adams, ND; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John J. and Joseph, and sister, Stanny (Mrs. Evarist) Barta.

The Barnes Family Funeral Service, Henriksen-Kamrowski Chapel of Grafton is assisting the family with arrangements.
