She was reared in Perry Co. & was united with the Methodist Church, where she attended faithfully. On January 7th, 1906 she was united in marriage to William Elliot Barbier. He preceded her in death on January 23, 1932.
To that marriage 2 children were born. Margaret & Josephus Barbier.
When Annie was around 38, Mary & William & the kids moved to Farmington. She transferred her membership from the Perry Co. Methodist Church, to the Farmington Memorial Methodist Church. At around 50 years of age, she went to work for the state hospital # 4, where she worked until November 1st, 1951.
She had a paralytic stroke according to her obituary on January 13th, 1951, 10 days before her death. Her death certificate however says that her immediate cause of death was terminal uremia, which is caused by kidney failure. They found out about this condition 2 weeks prior to her death. It also states that she had cardio-vascular renal disease that was known about for 2 years, & diabetes mellitis for 10 years.
When she died, she left a daughter, Margaret Mrs. Charles (Barbier) Hawn; one son, Josephus Barbier; 3 grandchildren, Bill & Jim Koen, & Betty Barbier Koen, a granddaughter-in-law Mrs. Jim Koen, & all of these live in Farmington. Also alive at the time of her death were Albert & Rush Mc New & a sister Mrs. Charles Oster living in Perryville
Some facts that were happening on the year that she was born. Chester Arthur was the president. Ladies Home Journal began publishing that year. The first telephone call from New York to Chicago was placed, & the Brooklyn Bridge was opened that year. Standard time zones are put in place, because of the railroads.
