Michael Steven Sims was born in Lawton, OK July 16, 1954 to Marvin Ray and Elva June Sims and was the third of four children with one brother, Danny Marvin, and two sisters, Janet Ray and Debra Ann.
Michael graduated from Lawton High School in 1972 and enlisted in the Army in 1974.
Survivors include his mother Elva June Sims, sisters Janet Ray Fritts and Debra Ann Eason, niece Theresia Ann Fritts, nephews James Michael Welch and Neal Thomas Eason, and great niece Amber Louise Welch.
