Don J. Hauk, 76, of Rushville, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, at his home.
Born Aug. 10, 1926, in Rushville, he was the son of the late Howard and Frances (Smith) Hauk; she survives. On Aug. 5, 1944, he married Ruby Whitaker; she survives.
Mr. Hauk had lived in Rushville his entire life. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Rushville American Legion and the Rushville Eagles Lodge. He was a heavy equipment operator, having worked for 20 years with the Rush County Highway Department and with the Franklin County Highway Department prior to that.
Survivors in addition to his mother and wife include one daughter, Judy Chandler of Rushville; one sister, Wanda Childers of Rushville; and two granddaughters.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one brother.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Moster & Cox Mortuary in Rushville, with the Rev. Charles justice officiating. Burial will follow in Bennett Cemetery in Shelby County. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions arc requested to the Hospice of Decatur County. _________
