Margaret Guadalupe Halby was born the second of six children to Syrian immigrants George Halby and Mary Nasser.
She was born in Clifton, two years before that part of Graham County was taken to form the new Greenlee County. Her hometown of Clifton is on the San Francisco River in southeastern Arizona, near the New Mexico border.
Margaret married Minem Farrage and they raised at least two children in the area of Jerome, Yavapai County, Arizona.
In 1925 the family moved west to Blythe, Riverside County here in southern California.
By the 1930 census, and later research, Margaret and Minem had the following children:
