B. F. Berry, aged 63 years, died of dropsy at 7 o'clock this morning in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Vince Derfelt, at Eleventh and Kellar streets. He had been ill a long time and death was not unexpected. Mr. Berry has been a resident of Galena for a number of years and has always followed the occupation of civil engineering. The funeral services will be held at 2:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the Baptist church, conducted by Rev. J. S. Umberger. The interment will be in Galena cemetery.

He was a Civil War veteran, serving in Company H, New York 14th. In the pension card filed in 1918 by his widow Elizabeth J Berry, an alias is noted for him: Charles Collins. His service was recorded in H. 14 N.Y. H.A.
