Daughter of Basil Loyd Piland and Judith Elaine (Boepple) Piland. She married Ronald Dean Ahrens May 31, 1986 in Great Bend, KS. Her maternal grandmother was Mildred Irene (Beck) Boepple, daughter of Jacob Franklin Beck and Mabel M. (Casto) Beck. Her paternal grandparents were George Washington and Bertha Cecila (Hanson) Beck. George and Bertha Cecilia were my great-grandparents on my paternal side. Michael Anne was my 2nd cousin, once removed. Mildred Irene (Beck) Boepple and my father, Donald Beck Gardner, were both born in Covington, OK and had fond memories of their childhood times together. Dad stayed in touch with Mildred until his death in 2004.
