A US Army veteran of World War II, and the husband of Ilma Imogene (Richardson) Blane, he was a member of the Indian Mound United Methodist Church, the Indian Mound Masonic Lodge #303, retired from Fort Campbell Civil Service in 1971 and finally retired from R K Smith Construction Company in 1987.
He was 98 years old and a resident of Dover when he passed away on September 27, 2014 at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; children Gwendolyn Blane, Imogene Blane, and Ronnie David Blane; sisters Gertrude Smith, Elizabeth Grasty, Electa Smith, Beatrice Vaughan and Kathryn Vaughan; and by his brothers Charles Blane, and Curtis Blane.
Survivors include two married daughters; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Seay Cemetery, Indian Mound.
