Funeral rites for Walter Marlar, 83, of Van Buren, Arkansas was held this afternoon at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Van Buren and with the Rev. Stanley Daniel and the Rev. Murl Walker officiating. Burial was in Gracelawn Cemetery by Ocker Funeral Home.
Mr. Marlar died Friday at a local nursing home. He was a resident of Van Buren for 35 years and a retired salesman for the Harry G. Barr Co. of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife, Dolly of Van Buren; one son Billy Joe of Van Buren; two sisters , Pauline of Yellville, Arkansas and Grace of Clarendon, Arkansas; one brother Forrest also of Clarendon.
