Mary Ivy Estes, 78, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2006. She was born May 6, 1928 in Lee County, Mississippi to the late Robert and Ola Payne Ivy. Before her illness, she dedicated her life to being a loving housewife, mother, and grandmother. She loved doing for others, and before her illness, was an active member of Lake Shore United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughters Linda Williams (James) and Debbie Wiggins (Edward); four grandsons, Justin Williams, Joshua Wiggins, Jordan Williams, and John Wiggins; her sisters, Josephine Roebuck of Palmetto, Mississippi, Billie Witcher (Junior) and Janie Kutka (Vince) both of Tupelo, Mississippi; sister-in-laws Alice Ivy Sylvester of Tupelo, Mississippi, Gladys Ivy of Coos Bay, Oregon, Helen Ramage (Buddy); and brother in law, Bobby Estes (Janie) also of Tupelo, Mississippi; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, James Holder "Pete" Estes, her parents, and her siblings, Farra Mae Holland, Christine Williams, Clara Montgomery, Eva Hall, Polly Davis, Robert Ivy, John Russell Ivy, Fred Ivy, and Virginia "Sip" Scribner.

Her family wishes to offer a special Thank You to her caretakers Amanda Royce, Connie Weisman, Novada Onay, Robin Osborne, and most recently the staff of River Garden Hebrew Home and Hospice of Northeast Florida.

In celebration of her Christian life, a funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 14th, 2006, at Lake Shore United Methodist Church with the Reverend Thomas Fuller officiating. Interment followed in Jacksonville Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers were Justin Williams, Joshua Wiggins, Jordan Williams, John Wiggins, Barry Wright, Bobby Burris, Steve Wright, Ed Weise, Frank Attaway, and Michael Gerardo.
