Bessie Cooper
Mrs. Bessie Cooper, 89, of Colorado City died Wednesday, April 20, 2005 in a local care center. Services were held Saturday in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Monte Kreis officiating. Burial followed in the Colorado City Cemetery under the direction of Kiker Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cooper was born on January 17, 1916 to Marcus and Ora Palmer Jones in Edgewood, Texas. She married Woodrow Cooper, he preceded her in death on April 3, 1990. She was an active volunteer with the Hospital Auxiliary Pink Ladies for over 25 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a Mitchell County resident since 1952.
She is survived by her son, Mickey and wife Nancy Cooper of New Deal; two grandsons, Steven and wife Emily Cooper of Perkins, OK and Chris and wife Jocelyn Cooper of Little Torch Key, Florida; two great grandsons, Braden Cooper and Bryce Cooper, both of Perkins, OK; two brothers, L.D. Jones of Trent and Bill Jones of Andrews; two sisters, Murle Haught of Center Point and Kathleen Jones of Trent; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son, Robert Cooper in Vietnam on December 22, 1967
