Elmer Ferrin Sharp, 73, of Riverdale, Id., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 10, 1996, of natural causes at the home of his daugh¬ter in lona, Id. He was born on June 9, 1923, in Nashville (Franklin),Idaho, the son of Elmer and Luella Blanch Gregory Sharp. He married Carma Forsgren on May 28, 1947, in the Logan LDS Temple. She died on Feb. 12, 1993. He spent his childhood days in Mapleton, Id. After graduation, he served in the Army during World War II where he received the Purple Heart. He and Carma lived in Riverdale most of their married life. He was active in the LDS Church, officiating in the Logan Temple. He worked in the family history center, scouting programs, Sunday School, and as the High Priest Quorum instructor.
He is survived by four sons and three daughters:
Calvin (Monalyn) Sharp, Riverdale, Id.;
Janette Britton, Idaho Falls, Id.;
Debra (Devon) Glover, lona, Id.;
Brent (Diana) Sharp, Thatcher, Id.;
Sydney Sharp, Pocatello, Id.;
Gifford Sharp, Arizona,
Rosalee (Douglas) Woods, Riverton, Ut.
He is survived by 23 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; five sisters,
Roberta Butin, Willets, Ca.;
Roma Crockett, Salt Lake City,Ut.;
Arlene Wanner, Preston, Id.;
Fern Olsen, Salt Lake City, Ut.,
Ivona Axleton, Boise, Id.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and one sister, Blanch Newbold.
Funeral services were held Dec.14,1996, in the Riverdale Ward chapel with Bishop Dal Von Atkinson conducting. Burial was in the Riverdale Cemetery.
