James Lois McGill, 86 of North Zulch, Texas passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center. Funeral services are set for 11:00 am, Saturday, August 23, at Madisonville Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Willowhole Cemetery in North Zulch. Pallbearers are Mike, Chris, Jason & Zachary Norman, David Lawson and Charles Drake. Honorary pallbearers are Joseph Dalzell, Noah & Ethan Norman. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, August 22, 2008, from 12 noon until 8 p.m. James was born November 19, 1921 to George W. and Lou Emma (Baines) McGill. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. He served in the US Army during WW II from 1-28-43 until 4-16-46. James worked for Madison County as a county laborer. He was a member of the North Zulch Free Will Baptist Church and was baptized on December 8, 1957. He served as deacon since 1961. He was a life member of the VFW Post #8233. And he graduated from North Zulch High School with a honorary diploma on November 9, 2000. His favorite passages from the Bible are, the 23rd Psalm and I Thessalonians 4:13-18. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Doris; three daughters, Billie Sue and husband, Charlie Norman of Houston, Bertha Jo and husband, Wilmer Lawson of North Zulch and Anissa Gail and husband, John Dalzell of Navasota; six grandchildren, Mike Norman of Pearland, Chris Norman of Pearland, Wendy Drake of North Zulch, David Lawson of San Antonio, Jason Norman of Houston and Joseph Dalzell of Navasota; great grandchildren, Zachary, Makalah & Noah Norman of Pearland, Haley & Alicia Norman of Pearland, Ethan Norman of Houston, Keeli & Cori Drake of North Zulch and Skyler Lawson of San Antonio.
