Pauline Madden McManus was born in Mount Enterprise, TX, on May 5, 1911, to Emily and Charles Madden. Her early life was spent in Mount Enterprise. The family moved to Purcell, OK, where she was living when she met her husband-to-be, Charles Douglas McManus. On December 8, 1929, she married him in Mayfield, OK. In 1936, they moved to Chico, CA. For a short time at the beginning of World War II, they moved to New Mexico but soon returned to California to live until 1952 when they came to Portales, NM. In 1957, they moved to Alamongordo, NM. Following the death of her husband in 1987, she moved to Morarity, NM, to live with her son. Later it became necessary for her to enter a nursing home. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She had two sons and one daughter.
