Charles Elmer Davis was born in Hokah, Houston Co, Minnesota to Richard Stephen Davis and Harriet (Sprague) Davis; married Mary Elizabeth (Daley)on the 15th of January, 1884 in La Crescent, Houston Co, Minnesota, by a Catholic priest. They had 3 sons: George Charles Davis, James M Davis, and Roy E Davis.

Census cited: 1870 and 1880 Houston Co, Minnesota; 1900 La Crosse Co, WI; 1910 Buffalo Co, South Dakota; 1920 and 1930 Spink Co, South Dakota.

Charles worked as a Teamster; as a Section Hand on C & NW Railroad for 15 years; retiring in June of 1928. He died at the age of 74 of Chronic Myocarditis, Hypertension, and senility; according to his death certificate. Information was given by his son Roy E Davis.
