Born in Lebanon, he was the son of Hilda V Stoessel Shucker of Palmyra and the late Earl C Shucker. He was a retired chauffeur and mailman for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation. He was a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ.
He was a member of the Lincoln Republican Club; the Maennerchor Club; the Ace Club of Lebanon; the Travelers Protective Association; the Senior Center of Lebanon Valley; the Society of the 213th CAAA; the Annville American Legion; the Navy Ship Club 91; the Fraternal Order of the Eagles; the Loyal Order of the Eagles; the Loyal Order Moose; the Friendship Fire Company; a former secretary of the United Clubs of Lebanon County; a past commander and life member of VFW Post 23, Lebanon.
He was also a life member of the Military Order of Cooties Pup Tent 39 where he was currently serving as the CCDB; a life member of American Legion Post 158, Lebanon; and a life member of Keystone Bun Club and Liberty Fire Company. He served with the Marine Corps in the South Pacific during World War II and also served in the Korean Conflict.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are stepsons Samuel Brubaker, Durham, NC and Scott Brubaker, Ft Smith, VA; six grandchildren; and a brother, Earl C Shucker Jr, Glendale, Ariz.
