Bertha Leona Addington Hathcock, 87, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, at Daniel Health Care in Fulton after an extended illness. She was born April 17, 1919, in Monroe County to the late Jesse A. and Maude Green Addington. She grew up in the Bethlehem and Pearce Chapel communities of Monroe County and had lived in Amory for many years. She married William A. Hathcock on May 23, 1937 in Monroe County; he preceded her in death in 1990. She was a seamstress employed by Amory Garment Company for many years before her retirement. She attended New Hope Church of Christ. She was a member of the AARP and enjoyed yard work and gardening.

Services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with Mr. Philip Hathcock and Mr. Mitch Rhymer officiating. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Janie Hathcock Love and her husband, Alan, of Naples, Fla., and Willaloise "Wendy" Hathcock Roebuck and her husband, Wayne, of Amory; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Lilliard E. Hathcock; a daughter, Juanita Larrison; two brothers, Preston Addington and Pete Addington; and one sister, Naomi Patterson.
