Funeral services for the late Mrs. Annette B. Thompson, aged 88 years, will be held from the chapel of the Jones funeral Home Sunday afternoon at 4:00 o'clock. burial will be in Globe cemetery.
The services will be conducted by the Rev. Wm. F. Fulton. Favorite hymns will be sung by Mrs. Roger Preston, accompanied by Mrs. Fred W. Curts.
Born in Ohio
Mrs. Thompson was born on a farm in Morrow county, Ohio, April 1, 1955. She was educated in the public schools of Morrow county, and in 1880 she was graduated from Ohio Weslyan University, Delaware, Oh. She was married in 1884 at Topeka, Kas. to David N. Thompson, a veteran of the Civil war who served in the federal army. Mrs. Thompson was at the time of her marriage assistant principal of the Clay Center, Kas. high school. Her father, Capt. Thomas S. Bunker also served in the Civil War on the northern side.
Resident of New Mexico
The couple left Clay Center where they resided for some years to come to Albuquerque, N.M. because of Mr. Thompson's failing health. He died there 34 years ago.
After his death Mrs. Thompson resided at Santa Ana, Calif. with her brother, but made frequent visits to Globe as the guest of her daughter, Mrs. Clara Woody. Two years ago she came to reside permanently with Mrs. Woody, now living at Wheatfields.
She has been in failing health since that time and passed away at Mrs. Woody's home in Wheatfields.
Surviving Relatives
Surviving, in addition to her daughter, Mrs. Woody, are three grandchildren: two granddaughters, Jean Woody, Globe, and Mrs. Thomas Neill, Spokane, Wash., and a grandson, John B. Woody, Globe.
