Rites Wednesday for Myrtle Smith

Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Smith, 78, will be held at 3:30 pm Wednesday at Moster and Sons Mortuary, with Dr. Frank Helme and Rev. Charles Brackman officiating. Burial will follow in East Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith, whose home was at 341 W. Fifth, died at 12:30 pm Monday in Rush Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for two days. She had been in failing health for several years.

A Rushville resident for 25 years, Mrs. Smith has spent most of her life in Rush County. She formerly lived in the Raleigh community and was a member of the Raleigh Christian Church.

She was born in Johnson County on January 15, 1885, the daughter of Jefferson and Mary White Winkler, and was marred in September of 1902 to Charles L. Smith, who survives.

Surviving with the husband are three sons, Byron P. Smith of Sexton, Calvin B. Smith northwest of Rushville and Charles F. Smith of Richmond; two daughter, Mrs. Clarence Smith and Mrs. Frances Hauk, both of Rushville; a sister Miss Dora Winkler of Rushville, 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchild.
