Ray VanBebber, 48, 1404 Seventh street, died at 12:55 a.m. Tuesday in Enid General hospital after a long period of ill health stemming from a 1947 auto accident. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Newton funeral home, with Rev. W. C. Campbell of the First Baptist church officiating. Masonic services will be conducted at the grave in Grace Hill cemetery, under direction of Perry lodge No. 78, A.F. & A.M.
VanBebber had been in ill health since an auto accident April 5, 1947, one mile west of Perry. He had been confined to the hospital the past five weeks.
Born Jan. 12, 1903, in Perry, he was married in Tulsa Aug. 17, 1930, to the former Hazel Winsworth, who survives. The VanBebbers made their home on the Magnolia lease west of Perry, where he was employed for 21 years before moving to Perry in 1946. He was a member of the First Baptist church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Wynona and Karen Sue, of the home; his mother, Mrs. Ila VanBebber of Perry, and 10 brothers and sisters, Roy VanBebber and Bessie VanBebber of Perry, Mrs. Harriett Tefteller of Oklahoma City, Ralph VanBebber of Duncan, Jack VanBebber of Dumas, Texas, Bertha Schellenberg of Guthrie, Lillian VanBebber of Washington, D. C., Glen VanBebber of Perry, Dorothy Ritterbush of Guthrie, Earl VanBebber of Tracy, Calif.
A daughter, Ramona, preceded him in death Aug. 25, 1946, a polio victim.
