Edwin Ruthvin Abel was the 6th child of Dr. William Goodhugh Abel and his wife Jane Anderson. He was born in Marshall County, Alabama. He married Eliza Caroline Parkhill Dec 18, 1884. After Eliza's death Sept 23, 1916 He was a lost soul. He moved his family to Oklahoma near Elmore City, in Garvin County. Then moved to Earlsboro in Pottawattomi County in 1918. He and Eliza were devout members of the Primitive Babtist Church.
