Johann married Marguerite Ann Eckhardt on 18 Nov 1828 in Musberg, KE, W. Germany, and they had TEN children during their marriage:

Jakob Friedrich Rentz (1830-Chidhood Death),
James Michael Rentz (1832-Childhood Death),
William Rentz (1834-1873),
Benjamin Rentz (1836-1864),
George Washington Rentz (1838-1921),
Martha Elizabeth Rentz-Etheridge (1842-?),
John Wesley Rentz (1845-1913),
David Joseph "Joe" Rentz (1847-1908), and
Margaret Lucinda Rentz-Lewis (1849-1914).
Johann immigrated to the UNITED STATES with his family in 1831. Johann's first wife, Marguerite Ann, passed away circa 1852, and Johann married Nancy Webb on 29 Dec 1853 in Clarke County, Alabama, and they had TWO children during their marriage: Julia Rentz-Lewis (1855-1895) and Aaron G. Rentz (1858-?).
Johann passed away on 12 June 1881 in Marengo County, Alabama and was buried at Paynes Chapel, Dixons Mills, Marengo County, Alabama.
